Janice Peacock is a glass bead maker who became an author in 2014 when she published her first novel, High Strung, A Glass Bead Mystery. As a new author, Janice discovered that writers must do a great deal of self-promotion in order to build their readership. She’s spent much of the last two years learning all she could about marketing through social media, one of the best ways for authors—and any creative person—to promote themselves. Recently she has applied what she has learned about self-promotion as an author to her role as a fulltime glass bead maker and is ready to share this knowledge with other creative people.
In this presentation, Janice will start with a discussion about why marketing with social media makes sense in today’s online world. She’ll introduce several of the most important social media sites that every creative person should be part of, which ones to avoid, how to optimally set up your online presence, and how to automate the process of participating in several online communities.
