PICARD TRADE BEAD MUSEUM CARMEL, CA
Saturday, June 13, 2009

We’re renting the bus, so leave the driving to us! Please join us for a relaxing bus trip to Carmel to visit the Picard Trade Bead Museum. Ruth and John Picard have been collecting and dealing with African trade beads for 40 years. The Picard Bead Museum is the only museum in the world dedicated to the collection and study of beads made or traded in Africa. Over 50,000 beads, as well as African art are exhibited in 3,500 square feet of gallery space. The Picards also have a large selection of collector beads and new styles from the Czech Republic for sale in the gift shop. See www.picardbeads.com for more information.

We’ll make a day of it. Meet us at either the North Berkeley BART station (bus leaves at 8:15 AM) or the San Leandro BART station (bus leaves 9:00 AM). Our first stop in Carmel is for lunch (not included in your bus fare) at a local restaurant (Jeffrey’s) with the group, or at another spot of your choosing within walking distance. The Picards will expect us from approximately 12 PM and we’ll start home at about 4 PM.

DEADLINE FOR SIGNUP IS NOW JUNE 10. It is $25 for BSNC Members, $50 for Guests.
